11 treatments, and what each one asks of you.
The same 11 the front page lists, with the part that would not fit on a card: what actually happens, how many appointments it takes, and how many days it keeps you in Vlorë.

Check-up and hygiene
A full examination, a scale and polish, and a plan in the order things matter. Everything starts here.
It takes about half an hour. We look at every tooth and at the gums around them, take a radiograph where there is something that cannot be seen from the outside, and clean off what a toothbrush cannot reach. You leave with a plan in the order things matter — what needs doing now, what can wait, and what only needs watching.

Fillings
The decay comes out and the tooth goes back to its own shape, in a composite matched to your enamel.
The decayed part is removed and the tooth is rebuilt in a composite matched to the shade of your own enamel, layer by layer, and set hard with a lamp. It is done under local anaesthetic and you can eat as soon as you leave. A tooth treated early is a filling; the same tooth left alone becomes a root canal.

Root canal treatment
The canals are cleaned and sealed to the tip of the root. The tooth stays yours.
When decay reaches the nerve the tooth is not lost — the canals are cleaned out, shaped and sealed to the tip of the root. It is done under anaesthetic, and it is the treatment that ends the pain rather than the one that causes it. A back tooth is usually crowned afterwards, because what is left of it is thinner than it was.

Crowns and bridges
When little of the tooth is left, a crown covers what remains. Made in the laboratory and tried in before it is fitted.
A crown is made in a laboratory from an impression or a scan and covers what is left of the tooth. It is tried in before it is cemented, and the shade is chosen against the teeth either side of it rather than out of a catalogue. A bridge is the same work carrying a false tooth across a gap.

Veneers
Thin porcelain shells over the front of the tooth. The shape and the colour change; the tooth underneath stays.
A layer of porcelain about as thick as a fingernail, made in the laboratory and bonded to the front of the tooth. It is what we reach for when the colour will not come back with whitening, or when a tooth is small, worn or chipped. Very little enamel is removed, and in some cases none at all — but what is removed does not grow back, so which of the two your case is gets said before the work starts rather than after.

Extractions
When there is nothing left to save, wisdom teeth included. Under anaesthetic, with clear instructions for afterwards.
Sometimes there is nothing left worth saving, and a wisdom tooth is more often in the way than in trouble. It is done under local anaesthetic, and what matters as much as the extraction itself is what you do for the two days after it — which you get in writing rather than said at the door.

Oral surgery
Teeth still buried in bone, broken roots, and the bone an implant needs first. Local anaesthetic, one appointment.
The surgical work that takes more than a straightforward extraction: wisdom teeth still under the gum or inside the bone, fractured roots, and adding bone when what you have will not hold an implant. It is done under local anaesthetic and planned from an X-ray beforehand rather than worked out as it goes. You leave with written instructions and a review appointment already booked.

Implants
A titanium root where the missing one was, and a crown on top of it. The closest thing to the tooth you had.
A titanium root is placed where the missing one was and then left alone while the bone grows onto it — that is the wait, and it is the part no clinic can shorten. Months later the crown goes on top. It is the only treatment here that replaces the root as well as the tooth, which is why the teeth either side of the gap are left untouched.

Dentures
A full or partial denture where too many teeth are missing for a bridge. Tried in wax before anything is final.
When too many teeth are gone for a bridge, a denture replaces them and rests on the gums or on the teeth that remain. It is built in stages — impression, bite, a try-in in wax, then the finished one — and the wax try-in is there precisely so you can see the shape and the colour and change them while nothing has been cut. It takes more appointments than anything else on this page, and the first weeks are practice: speaking and eating with it is a habit that arrives.

Orthodontics
Fixed braces or clear aligners. The teeth move slowly into place, and you see the plan before the first one is fitted.
Fixed braces or clear aligners, depending on how far the teeth have to move and what you are willing to wear while they do it. You see the plan before the first bracket is fitted. It is the one treatment here measured in months rather than days, and most of those months are spent at home rather than in the chair.

Whitening
In the chair, or with trays to take home. It takes nothing off the enamel — it gives back the colour you had.
In the chair in one appointment, or with trays made for you to use at home over a week or two. It lifts the colour out of the enamel and takes nothing off it. Crowns and fillings do not change shade, so anything at the front is matched afterwards rather than before.

An indication, not a quote. What it actually takes depends on the examination — and you get the plan, how many visits, how long and what it costs, in writing at the first visit.
Where to start
What brings you in?
Six reasons people come to us. Pick the one that sounds like you.
A gap changes how you bite and how the teeth either side of it sit. It can be filled with an implant — a new root with a crown on top — or bridged from the teeth beside it. Which one suits you depends on the bone underneath, and that is what the first visit looks at.
Usually: Implants · Crowns and bridges
Come and have it looked at.
Tell us what is bothering you and we will ring you back during opening hours. Nothing is started before you have the plan in writing and the price agreed.
